They didn't "reset" the characters!!! Yay! You know the feeling, right? You go to see a sequel to a good movie, and it seems like some of the characters have been reset and have had no character development that stayed from the first movie. I don't think Pangaea ever existed, but since the scene where Scrat broke apart the world was played more for laughs than to be believed as an actual fact, I'm okay with it. Peaches has a crush on a teen-aged mammoth named Ethan until she realizes he's the kind of boy who's a bad influence. They look creepy, they can change their appearance, and they will eat you if you get close enough.ĭiego falls in love with Shira. not a big problem for me, since I knew they were taken out of folklore on purpose, but they may be a problem for others who are really bothered by stuff like that. Nothing too bad in the language department, either. (References to stomach growling, "boogers", a small production over "booty" (referring to both treasure and an animal's bottom), and Grannie dives into the ocean for her 'bath', and lots of oil comes out and kills some sea life.) There may be some that I didn't see as a big deal, but that's pretty much the worst. My main problem with all of the sequels was the rude humor, and most surprisingly, this has the least of all! I can remember just 4 instances that I could say "Oh, that's the rude humor." to. Ice Age(1) was a great movie, but the next two movies were terrible in comparison! Finally, after 10 years, they make a sequel worthy of its predecessor.
